Day 12 – Vienna
Today we had a nice and relaxing day, which was much needed for most of us. The previous night was spent in a bar where it was only 1 Euro for a beer……and we were there for five hours……you do the math. We spent most of the morning and the afternoon on the bus coming back to Vienna making a pit stop only to drop our gear off at the rink we play at tomorrow. We arrived at the hotel around4 and left for a walk around the city at 5:30. Most shops closed at 7 due to it being “Three Kings Day” so we wanted to get all of our shopping done before dinner at 7. During dinner we found some links to the pictures taken during last nights game. Hopefully the problem with the pictures is fixed and I will be able to upload them for you. Tonight we will being staying in the hotel and relaxing a little more before our final game in Bratislava. I’ve realized that now I have played my last game out here, I want to be back home. I miss my family, friends, teammates and HOLY MOSES DO I MISS MY DOG.
Every time I see a dog I want to cry. God forbid I run into a Beagle.Although, I wouldn’t say no to another week or so in Bled……. I mostly want to be home because I am in such a hockey mode right now that I am ready to play our game on Friday vs Hope, the number two team in the nation. Even though Dom and I will be playing in it after a 3 hour bus ride, a total of 12 hours on a plane and then the drive from the airport to the rink, I am so excited for that game. One of the fun things about being on this trip is talking hockey with some of the guys were are going to be playing against. A lot of the guys I have talked to have told me how bad they are going to beat us just because they looked at our record online, which albeit isn’t impressive. Whether they know it or not, hearing that only makes me want to play them even more. I hope the boys back home are just as excited as Dom and I are.
Andrew or should I say Henrik we are all excited for you to come home and look forward to seeing you in the game on Friday. The Colorado goalie was outstanding last night against the Hawks. The won 3 – 2. I’ll bet that Euro beer tastes great. All of the pictures have been awesome. Take care buddy, play tough.
