Day 5 – Lustenau – Game vs. EHC Lustenau
Today was by far the best day of the entire trip. We started out with breakfast downstairs at 9 and then made our way to Liechtenstein in Switzerland for around an hour or so to walk around. Liechtenstein was small, yet beautiful. It was a tiny town that consisted of a large amount of shops, cafes, churches, and the castle of the prince of Liechtenstein. Most of which are pictured below. We spent most of our day, however, in St. Gallen, a larger town than Liechtenstein but still somewhat small. The town was gorgeous, and filled with shops and restaurants. I find it amazing how lenient the law is here. So many times there’ll be an abundance of signs that say “no smoking” and yet you will find a handful of people smoking cigarettes underneath it. After our two trips, we headed back to the hotel for a quick nap before our game. This game, we played much better and was closer than the last one. We trailed after the first 2-0 but came back with a strong second to make it 3-2 and ended up tying the game with 1 second left in the third. There was no overtime so we went straight to a shootout. After six shooters, we ended up losing a hard fought battle 4-3. After the game, the team we played bought us beers at the restaurant inside the rink and afterwards we went out to a bar as a team until 1. So far, this trip has gone above and beyond expectations and continues to improve as the days progress. Tomorrow we head to Munich, Germany for the New Years Eve party they have. I may or may not post for the next few days……

I have actually!! No one has their dogs on leashes. Not just the Bernese…all dogs. The dogs just know to stay next to their owner. It’s awesome.
